Before anyone asked me if this was okay to post..I e-mailed Dianna about it and she said it was okay. I wouldn't post any thing if it was going to offend you, Shannen.

I was looking through the guest book and found something.

From your cousin..Her name is Amy..

This is what was said: Shannen, we are related, third cousins. My mother and your grandfather(the writer) are cousins. My daughter thinks it is pretty cool to have you as a relative. Keep up the fine work, cuz!

THEN I e-mailed her this:Your related to Shannen Doherty?

How so?

I don't want to sound rude, I'm not. Dianna and I just want to make sure your not one of those people who has nothing to do, just post something stupid. People on line can be...well...I'm not sure what the word is..

Then she e-mailed me back with this:

Her grandfather Jimmy is my mother's cousin. Thier fathers' were brothers....Her grandfather corresponded with my family and other first cousins over the years and some of us have signed scripts from his writing for many shows in the late 60's and 70's. Dragnet, Adam-12, CHiPs, etc.

This relation would make her and I - 3rd cousins, or first cousins, twice removed. I have been the geneologist for my family for 25 years and have been in contact during those 25 years with many of the Doherty relatives connected to us both.

Does that answer your question

I showed this to Rachel and she believes it....it would be cool. that her grandfather is a writer.

But this Amy woman doesn't strike me a liar. I'm curious, really curious about this.

Does anyone know the name of the disney movie that Shannen's great, great Great Grandfather did?

And if James is her grandfather and he's a writer, is there a connection to Shannen being in showbiz?

Interesting...maybe it is true, maybe not.

Don't forget that there are a lot of people on the new who love to pretend they are someone they are not, you can't really be sure until Shannen confirms it, if, of course, she wants to.
